According to a report by Portuguese media outlet O Jogo, Chelsea are set to announce the permanent transfer of midfield starlet Ulises Davila. According to the paper, the Mexican international who is currently on loan at Victoria de Setubal will make his six months long loan deal a permanent one in the summer.
Ulises Davila was signed by Chelsea in August 2011 on a 5 years contract. His contract will expire in the summer of 2016 and judging by the club’s body language, the player is very unlikely to be given another contract hence there may be some truth in the O Jogo report as Chelsea would want to sell the player rather than see him leave the club on a free transfer.
Ulises Davila who has played at under 20 and senior national team levels for his country was initially sent on a season long loan move to Vitesse where he could only play three times for the first team but featured several times for Vitesse’s reserve team.
After Vitesse, Davila was also sent on loan to Spanish second division club Sabadell where enjoyed some playing times. He played a total of 35 games for Sabadell scoring 3 times.
Before going to Victoria de Setubal, he also had loan spells at Córdoba where he played 37 times scoring 7 goals loan and at Tenerife. For Tenerife, he played 10 times scoring just once.
