Former Chelsea physiotherapist, Eva Carneiro is on the brink of returning to job after her departure from Chelsea as Championship side, Charlton Athletic are ready to have the former Blues physio in their ranks. Although all terms and conditions have reportedly been agreed on, but Eva won’t join the club until all outstanding legal issues as regards the face off between her, the London club and Mourinho are resolved. Eva Carneiro, a fans’ and players’ favorite parted ways with Chelsea in September after she was openly lashed out onto by Mourinho during the Chelsea Swansea game.
With Chelsea down to 9 men, Eden Hazard went down with a knock in the closing stages of the game with the scores at 2 – 2, Eva and Jon Fearn raced unto the pitch to attend to the Belgium winger, sparking an open outrage from Jose Mourinho who described the duo’s decision as “naive and impulsive”. The Portuguese demoted the duo and they were excluded from all team’s activities. Although, Fearn was later reinstated, Eva chose to walk away citing verbal and discriminatory language from Mourinho to her as a reason. The Football Association however cleared the coach of any wrongdoing, upsetting Eva with their judgment who expressed her disappointment with it.
“ I was surprised to learn that the FA was allegedly investigating the incident of 8 August via the press. I was by no stage requested to make a statement. I wonder whether this might be the only formal investigation in this country where the evidence of the individuals involved in the incident was not considered relevant. Choosing to ignore some of the evidence will surely influence the outcome of the findings”
She has since taken the matter to a personal tribunal with Mourinho due to make a personal appearance. Many have also criticized Mourinho’s public outcry, stating that it has left a negative impression on the reputation of the club. It is also believed that the issue was the beginning of the fallout and players revolt happening in the dressing room which has led to a run of poor results.
