If you believe reports in the Spanish media this evening, Chelsea target Pogba Paul has agreed personal terms with Real Madrid and will join the Spanish once the summer transfer window is open.
The former Manchester United midfielder has developed into one of the best midfielders in the world and is highly sought after by many big European clubs. PSG, Manchester United, Barca and Manchester City have all been linked to the signing of the midfielder.
According to Spanish media outlet Deportes, Pogba has decided to join Real Madrid instead of Chelsea or any of the aforemention clubs interested in signing him after Karim Benzema persuaded him that his future lies with the galaticos.
Should the report be true, it will be a big blow to Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho who has reportedly asked Roman Abramovich to sanction a move for the big Frenchman. However, considering Chelsea have Fabregas, Oscar and Matic and are likely to complete the signing of Griezmann from Atletico Madrid, missing out on Pogba will not be so much a blow.
No doubt the 22-year old midfielder would improve any team in the world but Chelsea have other priorities. In my opinion, Chelsea should instead concentrate on getting Griezmann signing done, bring in another centre back who is young and capable of stepping into the shoes of John Terry and replacement Goalkeeper for soon to depart Petr Cech.
