Gary Cahill confident that his Chelsea team-mates are playing well and can continue to win games as his team attempt to catch league leaders Manchester United.
Chelsea started the season extremely well, with 22 points from their first 8 games, before being robbed by the referee in the 3-2 loss to Manchester United. This loss was the start of the end for Roberto Di Matteo, as he failed to win in the PL and placed Chelsea on the brink of elimination before being fired from Chelsea mid-November.
Chelsea have won 7 out of their last 8 games, and before today’s games we sat 11 point behind Premier League leaders Manchester United, and 4 points behind second-placed Man City, with a game in hand on both rivals.
Cahill said: ‘We need to keep looking forward and have that challenge in the back of our head.
‘We would rather have the points in the bag, but that’s another challenge we have got to face. There are plenty of games coming up.
‘I think we have good momentum.
‘We have changed the team around slightly, the lads are playing well.
‘We just need to keep winning games. That’s the way we look at it.’
If Chelsea win their game in hand, they will be only 1 and 8 points behind their premiership rivals, with Chelsea currently in the best form. Chelsea are creeping into the Premier League race and I believe our team will go close, as long as we bring in competition for Fernando Torres up front. Is Nando the man you want leading the Blues front-line?
