Carvalho to return in just three weeks
Chelsea’s defensive problems could ease a lot quicker than expected as it has been revealed today that Ricardo Carvalho could be returning to the squad in just a few weeks.
The experienced Portugese defender suffered ligament damage in Chelsea’s 5-0 demolition of Portsmouth last week, and it was thought that he would need an operation and be out for the rest of the season.
But subsequent scans have shown that the damage is not as bad as once thought, and he can recover without the need of an operation, and will be fit for the last few league games, and perhaps the FA Cup Final as well.
Carlo Ancelotti is also hopeful that Ashley Cole and Jose Bosingwa will also be able to play some smal part in the climax to the season as well, if all goes to plan.
