Despite having just completed his best ever season for Chelsea, 22-year old Daniel Sturridge is considering leaving the club to ensure regular first team football. He was one of the few players who flourished under the management of Andres Villas-Boas and may now decide to be reunited with the Portuguese coach at Tottenham.
Sturridge’s playing opportunities fell away after Villas-Boas left Stamford Bridge and he wants assurances from Roberto Di Matteo that he will not be just a fringe player at Chelsea. The new Spurs manager has likened Sturridge to Hulk, who he managed at Porto. Despite being used in a wider role than his preferred position of centre forward, Sturridge was happy to play and scored a respectable 11 league goals from 28 games.
If Chelsea continue their summer rebuilding with the addition of Hulk and another striker, Sturridge knows that he will have a real battle on his hands for a starting slot. The young striker has obviously got a hunger to play, which is good for Chelsea. Healthy competition for places is essential in a team, and Di Matteo will want to keep him.
One youngster who may be about to come into the Chelsea squad is Southampton’s left back Luke Shaw. He has drawn the attention of Arsenal and Man City but Chelsea want to get in first with an offer of around £4 million. For a youngster who has yet to play in the league, that is a decent amount of money.
He has been promoted to Southampton’s first team squad this summer and manager Nigel Adkins is expecting big things from him.
Sturridge should be loaned to totenham and if he does well he can play the season after . Who agrees ? Luke Shaw shows alot of promise i hope he can join and improve our youth team !
Don’t really care about Sturridge whether he stay or go..either way, with him or without him, I’m sure we’ll have a great strong squad next season. As for Shaw..I can only see him coming in and play at youth and reserve level, we have BRILLIANT young Bertrand who is surely gonna take Cole’s place soon!
if all those players are coming were not going too need sturidge for 2 years but its going to be fault to sell him bcos he have a vry vry vry big future guys he’s very good and young he’s a new english talent like young welbek and him we must loan him to a premier league team like totenham fulham everton aston villa ……. if he plays at one of those teams and plays in start each game he’s going to improve his self and you all are going too se every team is going to want him and if we sell him i vow were gonna swear on the second we sold him don’t do something wrong roman and de matteo your the best sturidge your our man and no one will take you from us !!
Surely we gonna regret if we sell Sturridge. He is very good anf his selfishness will go away as he grow up.It will be stupid of us to let him go and we shouldnt depend with Torres now that Drogba is gone.Mancinni was shocked as why Man City had let Danny leave. We should remember how helpful he was for us this struggling season
I don’t think Chelsea should be loaning out quality strikers to our rivals (Tottenham). But LUke Shaw will be a good successor to Ashley Cole.I’m not sure how good he is currently or whether this is one of those future players where we fail to hear from again. Alaba from Bayern would have been a good signing.
In Saying that, if Luke Shaw is signed he should be loanbed out to Soutrhampton to continue his development and play in heh EPL.
If chelsea can sign modric, moses maicon nd Hulk den it will ok,they now look like most dangerouse team in de world.
We dnt need 2 sale dis guy especially wen u compare his age, so loan him out is d only nd best option. As 4 shaw he wil b gud addition.
i know luke shaw personally he lives near to me, he is a quality player and has so much potential. his price will only go up and up as he will most probably a starting player for southampton and many other big teams will be after him, and seeing as abrahmovic doesnt seem as willing to splash the cash i think 4 million on a 16 year old who is only going to get better is a bargain!
