Chelsea CLEAR FAVORITES To Sign Paul Pogba After Roman Abramovich Steps In

Paul Pogba

With reports allegedly claiming that Juventus play maker, Paul Pogba has agreed to join Barcelona by January, when the ban placed on the Spanish giants expire, making rounds in the print press earlier on, the French international’s brother has come forward to refute such claims. His older sibling, Florentin, who plies his trade with St. Etienne in the French Ligue 1 says,

“There is still nothing concrete, but the newspapers give the impression they know everything. It’s crazy! In any case, Paul isn’t worried about his transfer.”

This will definitely present new hope to Chelsea as the race for the player’s signature isn’t lost after we were all made to believe so. With Barcelona banned till the coming winter transfer window, many had struck them out of the likely-clubs list that the 22 year-old could move to in the summer, even though they were linked to him. But when news came around that the newly crowned La Liga champions have agreed a deal with Pogba which would see him join them at the Camp Nou by January, it seemed as the Catalans have won the race.

Chelsea have been in the race to sign the Juve star since weeks ago, and there were plans to swap Brazil duo, Oscar and Ramires for him. But the deal wasn’t heading to conclusion as the pensioners were not ready to offer the Italian giants more than 60 million pounds but somehow with Roman Abramovich stepping in and Juventu’s insistence on signing Oscar, Chelsea seem to have a good chance. Juventus placed 75 million pounds on his head, and the player was making a demand for a wage worth 250,000 pounds per week. He has also been linked with PSG and Manchester City who showed readiness to meet the financial requirements. But as it seems at the moment, the player doesn’t belong to any club except the Old lady yet, and Chelsea still have a chance of luring him away from Turin to the Stamford bridge. It is never over until it is over.
