Chelsea Close To Completing Transfer Of £18m

SalahBack in April, Chelsea’s loanee, Mohamed Salah said he was going to make an announcement as per his decision of where to spend the next season. But almost 2 months afterwards, no news from the horse’s mouth seem to be forthcoming, and as it is at the moment, both clubs are in a sort of sixes and sevens concerning his future. Fiorentina are yet to make a stand on Salah’s position for the coming season. Another loan or a permanent deal is possible, but they haven’t opted for any, and time is gradually running out.

For a loan, the Europa league semifinalists will pay Chelsea 1 million Euros, and a permanent move for the winger will make them part with 15 million Euros. Salah was helpful to the Serie A club’s campaign, helping them secure a place in next season’s Europa, after having picked up great form when he joined in January in a move that saw Colombia’s Cuadrado move to the Stamford bridge. Chelsea do not have a space for Salah in the current squad, and it seems they want to part ways with the Egypt international. And if Fiorentina wants him, they must decide in less than 3 weeks, as the summer transfer window opens after then.

A couple of top clubs are interested in the services of the 22 year-old winger. With Tottenham, Wolfsburg and Atletico Madrid looking at the way of the player. Tottenham’s boss, Mauricio Pochettino wants a permanent move as he believes Salah will do great in the EPL, and a bid of 18 million pounds is reportedly being readied for him. But with Fiorentina having a right of redemption over the player, a stay in the Serie A for the coming season might just be in the pipeline for Salah. However at the moment, there is no clear picture as to where the “Egyptian Messi” will be by the summer season.
