It is no longer news that Chelsea are Champions of the top flight England league division, the Barclay’s Premier League. The team held on to a consistent top-spot for a very long time, and finally sealed it off with a lone goal victory over Crystal palace on Sunday evening. Now that they have ended the league on a successful note, preparations towards next season has started in earnest, and plans to strengthen the attack line are being made.
Coach Mourinho has declared he needs two major signings for next season’s campaign, especially a striker. Chelsea have joined others in pursuit of PSG forward, Uruguay’s Edison Cavani. The coach has expressed concerns over frequently-injured Costa and Remy, and he hopes a striker of great class can help lighten the attack burden on the team. Juventus, Manchester United and and Liverpool are all in race to sign the forward, who despite was made to play out of position at PSG in order to accommodate Ibrahimovich, has scored 25 goals so far in 48 appearances for the club.
Such a signing would be good for the team, particularly as a striking partner to Costa. It has been said the striker has handed in a transfer request at PSG, and could be available for 55 million pounds. To help matters, he has always talked about his dreams of playing for Chelsea. Although the club were in talks with his former club, serie A’s Napoli in 2013, and it fell through. But another opportunity that hardly comes twice, has presented itself, and they can get him for even a fee of 30 million pounds. And since the special one has suggested thus,
“We need a couple of players to give more strength and depth to the squad, and give us that little bit extra to progress in the Champions League.”
Cavani seems one of the best options out there for the blues, and they should get him at all cost (putting FFP in check)
