It is being reported today that Chelsea have agreed terms with Genk over their new young star goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. He will cost 6m euros according to De Standaard in Belgium and the club is now discussing personal terms with the 19 year-old.
Courtois’ father Thierry said: “Thibaut himself now has to see if he can agree personal terms.”
As Petr Cech is still some years from retirement, Courtois is expected to remain at Genk for next season before moving to Stamford Bridge in 2012 with a 4 or 5 year contract.
Courtois shot to fame last season when he was ever present as his club won their first Belgian Premier League title since 2002. The 6ft 6in star is hotly tipped to be a future star and hopefully will be top of the tree at Chelsea for the next decade or two!
