The speculations and rumours keep getting more and more interesting as Chelsea starts preparing towards next season. The EPL Champions have eyes on all European leagues for new supplements, from Spain to Italy, France and Germany.
Bundesliga player, Luiz Gustavo who currently plays for German Cup winners, Wolfsburg has refused to rule out a move to a bigger club like Chelsea if they come calling. Speaking with the press when asked what his decision will be if a Chelsea or say Barcelona approaches, the Brazil international says,
“If I were to be able to once again have the chance to go to such a club, then that would be like a gift to me. However, I also know what I have at VfL. I am incredibly happy here.”
Gustavo came into limelight as a defensive midfielder for the Bayern Munich side some 3 seasons ago. And has often linked with other elite clubs, with the Red Devils haven’t at a time targeted him. He has a 33 million-pounds buyout from Wolfsburg.
As the main squad gets to be linked with recruitments, so is also the youth team. And Brommapojkarna’s 16 year old defensive midfielder, Joseph Colley is set to join the academy on July 1. The Swedish teenager also doubles as a right or centre back. His move has been in the making since 2013, and after having become better, he is now fit for the final move to Chelsea.
Despite Courtois appearing in goal almost 90% all season, Chelsea still wants another goalie. Veteran turned substitute keeper, Petr Cech is on his way out due to limited playing time, and the club wants to bring in Stoke City goalkeeper, Asmir Begovic. The 27 year-old fell out in the pecking orders towards the end of the season, and a move away from Stoke is certain. Chelsea can only guarantee an increase in wages, and cups’ competitions appearances. It is not known if he will prefer that, as some other clubs are ready to offer him first team play.
