Chelsea are quite convinced that Callum Hudson-Odoi will stay at Stamford Bridge.
The English starlet was said to be aching to join Bayern Munich last January. However, the Bundesliga champions saw red four times as their bids were rejected.
However, a ruptured Achilles hampered Hudson-Odoi interest in leaving the Premier League side for Bayern Munich this summer.
The German side still show signs of interest in the 18-year-old but they are looking at other possible replacements for Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.
Chelsea believe that the young English player will now end any speculation over his future with the club by inking a bumper £100k-a-week deal.
The winger has longed to leave after growing perturbed with the first-team chance afforded him by Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri. His impressive performance last March paved the way for more opportunities. And with Eden Hazard set to leave Chelsea for Real Madrid, Hudson-Odoi may find himself wearing the number 10 shirt.
With the development, it can be seen as a sign that the club’s bosses are ready to put their trust in Hudson-Odoi. The question now is if Hudson-Odoi is fit enough to return to action?
The young winger underwent surgery last April and reportedly aimed to be back in the field by the start of the season. Hudson-Odoi will make his decision in the coming days.
In other news, Chelsea’s Kyle Scott is set to leave the Bridge this summer for Newcastle. The 21-year-old has been with the club since the age of ten. Scott, however, failed to make it to the first team.
The midfielder made only one appearance against Hull in the FA Cup last season. He will be available as a free agent once his contract expires.
Rafa Benitez, the Newcastle boss, was reportedly eager to try Scott on his team this summer.
