Chelsea Could CONFIRM 2nd Summer Signing This Week, £25m Deal Close

Nicolas-Gaitan

The South America continental competition, the Copa America starts in less than 3 weeks time, and some clubs with South Americans in their squad want to decide their fates before they leave for the games. Portuguese outfit, Benfica are somewhat hasty to get Chelsea to sign one of their most prized possessions, Nicolas Gaitan at the most reasonable price.

The club have put up a 25 million pound-price on the Argentine winger, and with agent Jorge Mendes involved, it is hoped the best deal can be cut on behalf of Benfica with the EPL Champions.

The club’s president, Luis Felipe Vieira is in London with Mendes, and it is also hoped that another player of the club, 24 year-old right winger Eduardo Salvio will also be sold, although Liverpool seems to be the club bidding for him.

Benfica are keen to let go of Gaitan, as his sales will provide a form of extra buoyancy in form of finances for the club. He was always set to make the big move anyway, and Chelsea have been keen on having the winger at the Stamford bridge following his great displays over the seasons, which helped him secure a 2nd title win with Benfica. All things being equal, a deal is likely to be agreed between both clubs in the coming days.
