Spanish giants, Real Madrid, are keen to offload Portuguese defender Fabio Coentrao. The 27 years old left back has only played 17 matches this season. Though the former Benfica player signed a 6-year deal (worth 30 million Euros) with the club back in 2011, he is set to leave for Chelsea coming summer.

He was brought in to Madrid by fellow Portuguese Mourinho, and he is now being wanted at Chelsea where the coach currently handles affairs. According to reports, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho will like to sign the champions league winner as replacement for Luis Filipe

The coach once laughed at speculations suggesting that the left back was wanted by the club during the summer of 2013. But with Filipe Luis on his way back to Atletico Madrid if the reports in that regards are true, the Portuguese seems perfect choice for the blues. He gets a chance to once again be under Mourinho, and with his style of play and agility, his seemingly-dwindling career at Madrid could just get a chance to soar high again.

His versatility will also come handy for the blues, as he can also play the left wing, and render services of a defensive midfielder. Although, Cesar Azpilicueta is the current first-choice left back at Stamford bridge, but Fabio Coentrao will come handy as a perfect competition for the role, and also a worthy replacement should anything happen to Azpilicueta. Manchester United has interestingly also shown interest in the Portuguese, but it seems Chelsea has pipped them in the race to get him.
