Chelsea have had an unimpressive season so far and must be wondering what they are doing wrong at the moment and to make it all worse, the club manager Jose Mourinho has incessantly fomented trouble with the media, the English FA and even his players and this is not making things better but worse.
Chelsea football chief Michael Emenalo therefore recently admitted that they need to support manager Jose Mourinho better in public.
Emenalo may have seriously implicated Mourinho as he says club owner Roman Abramovich wants club officials to represent themselves and behave in a way “that justifies our elevated status” he says that the club must find a way to help out Mourinho and not leave him alone to deal with perceived injustice to his players or club or even himself.
Emenalo told the Telegraph that, “Maybe we have to find a better way to help him, to work with him, a better way within the hierarchy.”
“We recognise that and we have to find a way to help him out in those situations.”
This is an admission that Mourinho’s behaviour in public is not good enough. This is a pointer that the club could sack him any time if he does not behavior.
The only thing that baffles me is if the club knows this and have admitted this, why have they not tried to curb the excesses of their manager but have left him to his own foolery and indiscretion?
