Chelsea Edging Close To The Signing Of £15m £75,000-A-Week World Cup Star

Jose MourinhoIf reports in the British media is anything to go by, Chelsea may be signing Asmir Begovic as want-away Petr Cech’s replacement as the Bosnian international has stalled on his contract talks with Stoke City with just less than 12 months left on his current contract. According to reports, the high rated goalkeeper has refused to sign a new contract with Stoke City which may force the club to sell the player come the summer transfer window instead of losing him for free in the summer of 2016.

According to reports, Begovic and his representatives think the keeper should be Stoke City’s highest paid player and as such are demanding a big wage increase which Stoke City are not buying which could well mark the beginning of the end of his football career with Stoke City.

Stoke feel Jack Butland will be a worthy replacement for the Bosnian and as such have kept to their contract offer which is below what Begovic and his agents want. This will play into Chelsea’s hand who have been according to many reports keeping tabs on the player’s contract situation with the potters.

With Petr Cech’s agent confirming the player has commenced negotiation with Beskitas with a view to completing a big money move to the Turkish in the summer transfer window, Chelsea are all out to get another keeper who will not only act as back up for Courtios but is good enough to replace the Belgian should he drop form.
