Chelsea extend Samsung sponsorship deal

Chelsea have extended their shirt sponsorship deal with Samsung and are we can expect an official announcement this week from the club.

The previous contract was for £11m for the five years from 2005-2010, but is believed that Peter Kenyon has negotiated a substantial increase on that figure.

This could be the last deal that Kenyon will do for Chelsea, according to rumours circulating for the last few weeks. Matt Hughes in The Times today wrote: “after concluding negotiations with the Korean electronics company he is weighing up whether it is the right time to move on.”

Frank Arnesen was made Sporting Director by Abramovich earlier this week, and will now take over Kenyon’s previous task of sourcing and negotiating for new players to add to Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.
