Chelsea have been given the green light to sign high rated Manchester United and Liverpool target Danny Ings. Ings has been on of Burnley’s best player this season and with his contract coming to an end in the summer, Burnley boss speaking to the press gave the greatest indication that the player may not go into the championship with Burnley next season.
Danny Ings, 22, who has 10 goals to his name this season has refused to put pen to paper on a new contract for Burnley which means he is able to move as a free agent in the summer but considering he is under 23 years, Burnley will be paid a nominal fee for his development.
“I don’t think I need to say too much, he has done that himself, not with his words but with his actions, certainly in the last two seasons,” Dyche said in the post-match press conference of his side’s final home game of the season.
“When I got here he was a developing player, still learning, still improving but there was still a lot of work to be done with him. He has accepted it, ran with it and moved forward and that’s all you can ask for with players.
“It’s good to see his development. It looks like it is not going to continue with us, but I think we have played a big part in how he has moved forward.”
Although he has only scored 10 goals this season, if one consider how poor Burnley has been this season, one will appreciate the player. Definitely not a player who is likely to oust Diego Costa from Chelsea’s first team but should Chelsea sign him, he will be a reliable third choice. He is certainly going to score some goals for Chelsea if you consider the number of chances the blues create per match.
Another plus is that he is available for just £5 million.
