Chelsea go back for a cheaper Aguero?

Chelsea have had their interest in Atletico Madrid’s striker Aguero reignited after his advisers met with the club’s management in order to lower the price of his release clause. The price tag to break Aguero’s contract looks set to drop from £42 million to £32 million.

According to the Daily Mail Chelsea were interested in the striker back in January but ended up buying Fernando Torres in stead. Whether a new offer will be made depends on the future status of Didier Drogba at the club. Drogba is of interest to several clubs including his former club Marseille and Turkish side Galatasaray.

Aguero joined Atletico Madrid in 2006 from Independiente. He has has been part of a prolific partnership with Uruguayan Diego Forlan and has played 234 games for Atletico, scoring 102 goals.

Meanwhile Chelsea are also thought to have an interest in Anderlecht’s Romelo Lukaku and Santos’ Neymar. It is clear that the Chelsea management want to bring in a new forward in order to provide a partner for Torres and to replace the likes of Anelka and Malouda who are set to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

If the price drops to 32m, ill take him though depends on his wages. We nearly had him a year or 2 ago but he wanted over 200k wages.

I would tend to choose him over neymar as he has proven his qualities in the likes of champions league

I’d be more excited about capturing Neymar dan Aguero coz Atletical have stripped him of most of his energies already. Its time we got a starlet and see him develop into a Chelsea Messi.

Villas-Boaz’s recent comment about the team being good just as it is; is a bit worrying. I accept that he wants to build new morale, but we also need younger players. And we need to bring them in before fair play rules come into full swing. Now is the time to sign players in their early twenties who will play at Stamford for another ten years. Drogba, Lampard, Essien, Malouda, Anelka, and Terry, are slowing. Manchester United is getting younger and faster every year, and it’s starting to hurt us. It’s no use looking at what our present players achieved in the past, because they were younger then. If Chelsea is serious about winning the Premiership they will need sign some experienced youth. If they are serious about beating Barcelona to the Champions League they will need to find one or two really special talents just as Barce have. Andre, please, let’s not miss out on Neymar; this year he is available!
