Chelsea holding talks with Demba Ba in hope of confirming his signature this week

Chelsea are set for talks with Newcastle United’s Demba Ba this evening over a potential move next month, as confirmed by Sky Sports during today’s game.

Demba Ba has a £7.5million release clause in his contract, with his advisers expected to pocket an extra £2M-£5M on top.

This price is thought to be a bargain for the striker who already has 13 goals so far in Premier League this season, and the Senegalese star will come in as competition to Fernando Torres, who has failed to find consistency this season.

Demba Ba has been outstanding since his arrival at St James Park from West Ham 18 months ago, scoring 29 goals in his 54 appearances for the Magpie’s.

Newcastle United have struggled for form this season, but that has not stopped Ba from consistently scoring goals, and has not stopped him from impressing potential suitors.

With the 27 year-old scoring so many goals in an inconsistent side, just imagine the flourish of goals he could muster with the supply he would receive at Stamford Bridge. The mind boggles. Expect to see Demba Ba in a blue shirt in the new year.
