Chelsea in talks with Lyon for French forward
Chelsea are currently in talks with Lyon over a move for striker Bafetimbi Gomis.
According to Canal plus, Chelsea and Liverpool both sent scouts to France to watch over Gomis on Sunday.
The Lyon striker failed to score in the 1-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in Paris, a loss which saw PSG go above Lyon into first place in Ligue 1.
The Frenchman is expecting his future to be sorted out next month, saying: “I have heard it, the president said I will get transferred or will renew my contract before the end of the January transfer window.”
The striker is expected to cost around £15 and is one of many strikers to be linked with Chelsea in recent months.
Roman Abramovich is firmly expected to do all he can to sign Radamel Falcao in January, with reports suggesting he will offer the Columbian a huge £10million a year.
Liverpool are expected to rival Chelsea for Gomis signature, if they fail in their bid to sign Daniel Sturridge from Chelsea.
Sturridge has held talks with Liverpool already and are thought to be in the advanced stages of a move.
Chelsea are looking to sign two strikers in January, as well as a left-back and a defensive midfielder.
I hope Chelsea can get Falcao, who is currently the best no. 9 in the world. If we don’t sign him in January I fear we will never be blessed with his presence at Chelsea. I’m not personally sure on Gomis however, and I would prefer to see Wilfried Bony arrive to play understudy to the pair of Fernando Torres and Falcao. Who do you think should bolster our front-line?
