Chelsea Legend Gianfranco zola has admitted he wishes to manage Chelsea FC one day, but he isn’t quite ready yet.
Zola is currently manager of Championship side, Watford, who are currently sitting in sixth place.
The former Chelsea forward is still a favourite at Chelsea, and would be welcomed back with open arms. It would be some-what of a risk should he manage Chelsea, where he could lose his legend tag should he fail.
Zola said: ‘I have been dreaming of becoming a good manager. One who can lead a team like Chelsea.
‘I work really hard for it. I do not know if I will. I think I have the abilities but I do not think I am good enough yet.
‘It is only my second coaching experience in a club after West Ham. I still have a lot to do.
‘I am really pleased by the owner’s plans. I know how serious the Pozzo family are.
‘This is the best place I could have found to develop as a coach,’
I would love to see Zola return, but after what we just did to Roberto Di Matteo, I don’t think Franco should return. Maybe in time Roman Abramovich will see the benefits of keeping a manager but now is not the time. I hope the former Chelsea no. 25 is ready for us when we are ready for him.
