Chelsea travel to Merseyside to face Liverpool in the lunch hour match day 11 fixture of the English Premier league.
Chelsea will look to continue their impressive start in the Epl and inflict more woes on Liverpool who have been a shadow of their excellent self of last season. The kops lost their star man Luis Suarez to Barcelona and summer signing Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli have been having abbysmal performances.
Both sides will look to get the better of each other after resting some of their key players in respective Uefa champions league match midweek. Jose Mourinho will have to make some changes to his starting line-up after some players put up a not too decent performance against Maribor.
It promises to be an interesting clash but we think Chelsea will get the 3 points and below are listed the 5 reasons why we think so…
In Goal
Thibaut Courtios is likely to return in goal in place of Petr Cech. The Belgian was left out of the Maribor game but would likely return to action as it is him that Jose Mourinho prefers in goal in league matches.
Petr Cech has been in goal in recent cup games for Chelsea but has not started any league match. Thibaut courtios has started between the sticks in all of the league matches this season and will look to continue in that capacity in this match.
In Defence
Mourinho seems to have found the perfect partnership in defence. The central defencive pair of John Terry and Garry Cahill have been a regular feature while Branislav Ivanovic has been magnificient at right full back bombing forward at will to join attack.
Azpilicueta will make his return to action after serving his three match suspension and will likely take his adopted role at left full back in place of Filippe Luis.
In Midfield
The pair of Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas have made the double pivot in front of the defenders their own so it won’t be a surprise to see both of them continue in central midfield.
Oscar’s form keeps improving with each passing game and he is stating to show why Mourinho chose him over Juan Mata as the club’s new no.10.
Hazard and Willian will likely be on either flank to complete the three attacking band behind the striker. Andre Schurrle should have been able to make the line-up but the German world cup winner has not impressed in recent games and that will give Willian a clear advantage to start as the right attacking midfielder.
In Attack
Diego Costa will be the clear favourite to lead the attack. The 26-year-old striker who has struggled with hamstring injury so far in his Chelsea career came on as a half time Substitute for Schurrle in the midweek game against Maribor. He showed signs of his attacking prowess with his goal wrongfully ruled out for offside. He will fancy his chances against Liverpool.
Didier Drogba who played the full duration of the last match will likely start from the bench.
Probable Line-up:
Courtios, Ivanovic-Cahill-Terry(c)-Azpilicueta, Matic-Fabregas, Willian-Oscar-Hazard, Costa.
Sub: Cech, Zouma, Luis, Ramires, Schurrle, Drogba.
Mourinho is ma best coach ever! da trophy is yours all, dont worry neither panic.
