Chelsea linked with move for Zenit's Hulk

Chelsea are keeping a keen eye on the situation at Zenit St Petersburg.

Zenit St Petersburg star Hulk revealed he is ready to walk out on the big spending Russian’s after his recent touchline row with coach Luciano Spalletti.

Hulk, 26, signed from FC Porto for a huge £40million but has failed to justify his enormous price tag in what has been a difficult season for the Brazilian.

Hulk was hauled off after 80 minutes during Tuesdays 1-0 victory over AC Milan, and refused to shake hands with the manager before taking his place on the bench.

The striker then made a gesture as if to say he was finished, furiosly waving his arms about as show below.

Hulk said: ‘If the situation with Spalletti is not solved, in January I will leave.’

Chelsea have been linked with the powerful attacker in the past and are closely monitoring his sitatuion at the Russian Club.

Hulk has scores just 3 goals in 13 games for Zenit, a worse record then current Chelsea striker Fernando Torres.

The £40million strikers lofty wages sparked an outrage amongst his team-mates, in which captain Igor Denisov earned himself a demotion to the youth team for his protest against Hulk.

I don’t personally believe we could invest in an out-of-form striker such as Hulk to replace Torres, especially if Zenit want to reclaim a large chunk of the fee they paid in the Summer. Falcao or Mario Gomez for me!
