Today Chelsea take on Stoke City at Stamford Bridge, as the Blues look to continue their unbeaten run. Chelsea currently have 10 points after 4 games, having won 3 whilst drawing with QPR last week. The West London club will want to get back to winning ways after two draws, but playing against Stoke City is no easy game. The Potters like to get something from the big clubs and they usually do and so the game will not be easy for the European Champions.
Chelsea are expected to welcome back Juan Mata from an extended holiday, while other players such as John Terry and Ashley Cole are expected to be back at full fitness following respective injures. Both played in the midweek game vs Juventus.
The Chelsea Line-Up is expected to be;
Cech
Ivanovic Terry Luiz Cole
Lampard Mikel Ramires
Hazard Torres Mata
You can also expect to see young Brazilian Oscar play a part in today’s game after shining in midweek. It’s a strong line-up that on paper should dominate Stoke, however as mentioned before Stoke have a physically dominant team and if Chelsea aren’t up to scratch the Potters could punish them.
As for Stoke, there isn’t really any changes to be expected after the team performed admirably in their draw with Manchester City last week. One change that is likely is summer signing Michael Owen who is expected to start today, as he looks to make a striking partnership with Peter Crouch. A tough game, that could go either way in my opinion but with Chelsea just looking so powerful I’m going for a 3-1 win for Chelsea.
