Chelsea have reportedly tabled a bid of £28.4million for Manchester United target Felipe Anderson of Lazio. According to the reports, Felipe Anderson is wanted by both Manchester United and Chelsea and with reports that Manchester United tabled their own bid three days ago, Chelsea has moved swiftly to counter the red devils with their own offer.
Jose Mourinho is reportedly in the market for another winger and has identified the Brazilian as the ideal player. Although the Portuguese signed Jan Cuadrado in January, Jose Mourinho has reportedly given up on the Colombian and wants in another player in that role.
Anderson has enjoyed a stellar season in the Serie A so far and this wonderful performance has not gone unnoticed as clubs such as Arsenal, Liverpool and the aforementioned clubs are reportedly on his trail.
United were initially considered as favorite but as soon as Jose Mourinho became interested in the player, it was believe United had no chance as Mourinho’s connection in Italian football is bound to help him get the player.
Should Anderson sign for Chelsea, it will remain to be see what Mourinho will do with Jan Cuadrado and Willian as I do not think he will be signing Anderson for close to £30 million and then keep him on the bench.
