According to a report by Sunday Sun newspaper, Liverpool are keen on signing Chelsea legend on a permanent basis or on a season long loan deal. The 32-year old Chelsea legend has found himself relegated to the bench this season due to the return from loan of Courtios.

Just last week, reports had it that the Czech republic national team goal keeper had agreed a mega money deal with French champions and Chelsea’s champions league nemesis PSG and it is only a matter of time before the said deal is announced. The Sun however thinks otherwise. According to the Sun, Liverpool will have to cough up as much as £10m if they want him on a permanent basis.

Should Liverpool succeed in convincing Chelsea and Jose Mourinho to let the keeper to join them on a season long loan deal, they will have to pay a £1 million as his loan fee and bear the burden of his reported £125,000-a-week wages. Petr Cech only few weeks ago told the media he will critically consider his future at the club at the end of the season.

Although Chelsea are always adamant to doing transfer business with clubs they consider their direct rivals, they fact Jose Mourinho allowed Victor Moses to join Liverpool last season may give credence to this report.

Aside Liverpool and PSG, many other clubs are monitoring the situation of the player who will become a free agent at the end of the 2015/2016 football season. Arsenal, Inter Milan and Real Madrid have been linked to the player in recent weeks.
