Chelsea Offer Liverpool Target Five Years Contract, Will Follow Hazard's Footsteps

Andreas Christensen

Today’s papers has been filled with news about Chelsea wonder kid , Andreas Christensen being offered a new five year deal by Chelsea and is set to be sent on a two year loan to Borussia Monchengladbach the same step taken by Eden Hazard’s younger brother Thorgan. Surely this news is great. Apart from being a prodigy, who is part of the future of Chelsea being tied down to a long deal, Christensen will get the much needed first team competitive football. As a Chelsea fan, we pride ourselves on our academy and how they are integrated into the main team.

Already Andreas has been involved in some first team duties, most notably being the League Cup match against Shrewsbury Town which Chelsea won 2–1. Andreas played the whole 90 minutes of the match and his potential was on display for all to see.

I hope Andreas signs the deal and then goes to the bundesliga to gain more experience and exposure. This is due to the fact that he might find it difficult to break into the first team next season due to the caliber of players already vying for a place in the first eleven.

Of course he can’t be blamed. How do you compete with the resurgent John Terry, or the marauding Gary Cahill and the ever tireless and domineering Kurt Zouma. This is why this new deal is essential, as it serves both parties conveniently. The club gets to keep hold of an immense talent, while he gets to develop without undue distraction.
