According to recent reports, Chelsea have opened contract talks with their Brazilian star winger and attacking midfielder Willian to see if he would stay at the club longer and to also reward him for his performances so far this season.
Although, Chelsea have had a woeful season and find themselves struggling to get out of the relegation zone, the Bluies player has still been in a superb form this season and has been one of their best players so far.
Willian signed for the Stamford Bridge based club in the summer transfer window of 2013 and has become a regular for the Blues.
Willian’s current contract is worth £80,000 a week and is billed to expire in 2018 but the Blues have reviewed the contract and want the star midfielder to leave in 2020 and also increase his pay to £100,000 a week.
According to reports from the Standard, Chelsea have already begun negotiation talks with Willian and his agents and an announcement will be made as soon as the player signs the contract which should be very soon.
Oscar and Ramires also just signed new deals at Chelsea and this is a good sign as it means that the players believe they can make something work at the Stamford Bridge and maybe turn their season around in a big way.
It remains to be seen if the Blues can have their players committed enough to make it work at the Stamford Bridge.
