If you believe reports in the English press, Chelsea are set to reach an agreement to sign Manchester United target Nicolas Gaitan after Jose Mourinho decided to sign the player after receiving good reports from Chelsea scouts who were sent to keep tab on the performance of the Benfica winger.
Mourinho is said to be a big admirer of the Argentine and his keen to sign him ahead of Manchester United. He has reportedly been keeping tab on the progress of the £25 million rated midfielder ever since he was with Real Madrid.
The 27-year-old versatile midfielder join Benfica in the summer of 2010 from Boca Juniors and has gone on to become one of the Portuguese best players. He has as of the time of writing this article played 125 games for Benfica scoring a total of 21 goals.
However, considering Chelsea already has Hazard, Oscar and Willian and can recall Schurlle and Salah from their loan spells if Mourinho feels the need for another winger, I do not see how they will be signing Gaitan unless of course if 1-2 of the aforementioned player leaves.
