Chelsea On The Verge Of Signing £25m Star But Brazilian Could Leave

Nicolas-Gaitan

With most seasons across Europe just a game or 2 away from closing, most Chelsea’s loanees are in the know as to what their fates hold towards the coming. One of such is Brazil’s youngster, Wallace Oliveira. The former Fluminense defender who is currently on loan at Eredivisie club, Vitesse won’t be returning to Stamford bridge anytime soon, as he is set to be loaned out once again.

Portuguese Champions, Benfica are reportedly interested in the 21 year old who once appeared for Internazionale Milan over a course of 4 matches. And it looks like he might be used by Chelsea to swap for Benfica’s midfielder, Nicolas Gaitan. Although it isn’t yet clear if the Argentina international is on Chelsea’s urgent transfer cards, but he will no doubt serve as a great backup if signed. And with Mourinho planning on rotating the squad regularly next season, he would come pretty handy.

Regardless of whether Gaitan transfer works out or not, Wallace is still likely to be acquired by Benfica, as a deal looks more likely to be struck by the club. The Brazilian definitely looks to have come to the end of his Chelsea journey, as he has struggled to adapt to the European style of play. But a stint at Portugal might do him good as he has shown traits of a great player.
