In a shock surprise, Chelsea winger Juan Cuadrado could embark on a return to Italy after failing to impress at Chelsea Italian media outlet Sky Italia has revealed.
Cuadrado-27 has made 12 appearances for Chelsea and has racked up an assist and has yet to score for the club. The former Fiorentina-man has been used sparingly by Jose Mourinho and could return to Italy in order to receive consistent playing time. Roma and Inter are interested in the player, however, the Giallorossi could ramp up their efforts should Gervinho leave during the summer. Alessandro Lucci, the agent of the winger, will meet with Chelsea within the next few days to clarify the player’s future with the team.
After joining Chelsea in January, Cuadrado could already be heading back to Italy. The Colombian winger struggled to find space with Mourinho but his strong performances for Fiorentina make him a target for Serie A club Inter Milan who wants him on a season long loan from Stamford Bridge.
All that said, I think Cuadrado should be at least loaned at least out of the club so that funds can start rolling in as the former Fiorentina man hasn’t been really effective. His influence has been limited and I don’t see why he shouldn’t be sold to pave way for other important additions to be made in areas of the team that needs
strengthening.
