Chelsea Plan Bid For La Liga Winner Who Has 264 Career Goals

According to reports, Chelsea is preparing to launch a shock bid for legendary striker, Zlatan Ibrahimović. With a Financial Fair Play break this summer, Chelsea will be able to spend as much as their billionaire owner, Roman Abramovich, wants to spend. Zlatan only has one year left on his current contract, and has been linked to possible moves away from France. Zlatan would pair with Diego Costa up top for José Mourinho, creating one of the most deadly attacks in the world. With Eden Hazard on the wing, and possibly Gareth Bale or Marco Reus on the opposite wing, Chelsea could make their case for one of the most impressive attacks in Premier League history.

Zlatan has a very good relationship with Chelsea boss, José Mourinho after playing for him at Inter Milan in 2008 and 2009. Zlatan was quoted speaking high praise for his former boss…

“I’ve never met a manager with that kind of knowledge about the opposing sides. We all sensed it immediately. This guy knows his stuff. I felt increasingly that this guy gives everything for the team, so I want to give everything for him. He formed an attachment to me even before we met. He would become a guy I was basically willing to die for.”

This relationship adds to the fire of speculations surrounding the possible move.

Regardless, Chelsea needs to add another striker, whether it be Zlatan Ibrahimović or someone like Danny Ings. Didier Drogba is no longer a world-class striker, and lacks the quality to even play in the Premier League, especially at Chelsea. It is dreadful when he comes onto the pitch, as hard as it is to admit it. Loïc Remy has had fitness problems this entire season, and cannot be relied on if Costa is not ready to play. Ibrahimović would be a great signing, and since his age he wouldn’t be too expensive. It would be amazing to watch him play next to Diego Costa, two of the most physical strikers in the world. It would be a lot better to see two strikers, than an insufficient attacking midfielder and only one striker.
