The manager of the Belgian national team, Marc Wilmots has urged Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard to consider joining PSG in the summer in order to further his career; according to a story published in the Metro Newspaper.
In an interview likely to arouse the anger of every Chelsea fan, the boss of one of the most improved national teams in the world, Belgium was quoted to have urged Hazard to move if he hopes to be “taken into serious consideration.”
“It’s an opportunity to be taken into serious consideration if he wants to be part of the category of players who make the difference.”
“It’s time to raise his level. Hazard and Ibrahimovic are two different players – but highly complementary,” Wilmots told French Television.
It is not difficult to know or identify which of the 2 clubs is a major step up for 23 year old Hazard. Chelsea without a doubt has dominated Europe in the last 2 seasons; wining the Champions League and the Europa League in successive seasons in a role. PSG on the other hand do not boast of such credentials; which makes me begin to wonder why the Belgian boss would consider granting such an interview.
PSG as things stand, are undergoing a process of becoming one of the dominant teams in Europe no doubt; but that doesn’t make Chelsea a stagnant team either. Hazard currently plays for a club that has some of the best midfielders in the world, and is also among the top earners not only the EPL, but anywhere in the whole of Europe.
Of course, he may want to leave for reasons other than wages and playing alongside the best in the world; but not because he considers PSG a bigger club than Chelsea. This like I said earlier, is likely to anger Chelsea fans, probably turn them against Hazard.
Will his head be suddenly turned by the interview granted by his national team boss? Maybe, but that in itself will be unprofessional for a player who flirted with a couple of big teams prior to his departure from Lille 2 seasons ago.
hazard, dnt even listen to such advice, cos with chelsea u’ll achieve wat u want in futbol
