The Chelsea manager has further refused to comment on the speculation that Frank Lampard will leave Chelsea at the end of the season.
Franky has been linked with various clubs across the world, with LA Galaxy, Monaco, QPR and Chinese clubs all apparently competing for the veteran midfielder’s signature.
Lamps believes he has alot more to offer the highest level, but has yet to comment on where he expects to be plying his trade next season. He has however said: ‘There’s nothing planned as far as I know. There have been no talks about an extension. The ball is in Chelsea’s court. I’m a Chelsea player, as simple as that. I’ve had a great, great time here.’
Rafa Benitez was asked about Lampard’s future, and said: “The future of players is always the same. I can’t say too much.
“He is fully committed to every training session and every game.
“He is an important player for us but I can’t say too much about how he feels. I’m happy with his attitude.”
The Chelsea legend is now 34 years-old, and is still playing his part in our season. He has been the perfect professional for many years, and I hate the idea that we are just going to push him out the door. If he does leave, I hope he will come back in the future as a coach. He has alot to teach the younger generation. Am I the only one who thinks we should keep him on?
