According to a supposed exclusive on the papers of the SUN newspaper, Chelsea are edging closer and closer to sign Atletico Madrid’s Koke. The paper’s headline today reads ‘Jose’s’ Okey Koke – Chelsea want bottle of Koke’. The paper went on to explain that the healthy business working relationship with Atletico Madrid and Chelsea could see Jose Mourinho get the Spaniard as easy as you can get when it comes to the world of transfers.
The papers in Spain have in the last one month been reporting a potential transfer of the 23 year old midfielder to Chelsea. The Spanish papers have been claiming the player who is also a target for Real Madrid, Barca, Manchester United, PSG, Arsenal and Manchester City would cost as much as €60m which is same as his release clause while the SUN went for £40m. But the SUN went further to claim Chelsea have the advantage over the rest of the chasing pack because of both clubs previous transfer dealings.
It is always said there is no smoke without fire. Every week and sometimes every day, there are claims in Spain discussing Chelsea’s interest in the player which makes one wonder where SUN’s exclusive comes from. However, exclusive or not, there seems to be some truth in the rumours linking Koke to Chelsea and definitely, he is the type of player that Chelsea could do with especially with the reports of Oscar being sold in the summer.
