Chelsea Rumours Aug 29 – Benayoun On Way Out
Yossi Benayoun only arrived at Chelsea last summer, but injuries have limited him to just 10 appearances in a Chelsea shirt and with the arrival of Juan Mata from Valencia he looks set to move on.
Benayoun played a full part in the clubs pre-season schedule, but he has only played one minute of the clubs three games so far this season. He wrote on his twitter site earlier today, “Negotiating with several teams……news soon.”
Clubs rumoured to be interested in Benayoun are Newcastle and Tottenham. Newcastle have just off loaded Joey Barton to Queens Park Rangers, but it is the interest from Spurs that is attracting all the attention.
Chelsea have long been after Luka Modric and were prepared to offer Benayoun as part of a deal earlier in the season according to reports. It will now be interesting to see what happens as the boot is now on the other foot. Newcastle would probably be the favourites to land him as Chelsea well may play hard to get just like Spurs have done over Modric.
If benayun seems leaving for Tottenham,let him be part of the deal that will navigate the coming of luka mordric.All is well for Chelsea.
