With the winter transfer window set to open in just two weeks time there are lots of Chelsea transfer rumours in the Sunday papers today as usual. The Sunday Mirror has the fantastic Brazilian Neymar at the top of Andre Villas-Boas’ wish-list. In fact he would be on the top of EVERYBODY’s wish-list as far as I’m concerned, but at least Chelsea actually have the backing to be in with a chance at the quoted price of £45million….
According to the People, the ex-Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti is set to make a U-Turn and accept the job as coach of Paris St. Germain, and is keen to take Didier Drogba back to France with him. With Drogba’s contract extension still unsigned there is every chance that could be true…..
The Star on Sunday reckons that Chelsea have no chance of taking Gonzalo Higuain from Real Madrid after AVB’s old boss Jose Mourinho has blocked the move. They stated that Mourinho “no longer respects his former side- kick” and won’t allow any Madrid players to move to Stamford Bridge. If true it’s a shame as Higuain would be the perfect replacement for Drogba….
The Mirror also rates Chelsea as the favourites to sign the Newcastle midfielder Chiek Tiote after Alan Pardew admitted he could be sold if a big offer came in for him, while Lyon’s Aly Cissokho is also high on Villas-Boas list of targets and the French international would strengthen any side in the Premiership….
They also say Chelsea are keen on Montpellier’s centre-back Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, but as I’ve never heard of him I can’t really comment on that one…..
Even Arsene Wenger recently said that if he had 50million he would spend it on the 19 year-old Neymar so thats a good enough recommendation for me. That would certainly be the best bit of Chelsea transfer news for me this Christmas!
