According to a report by daily mirror, Chelsea have decided they are ready to pay as much as £50m to acquire the services of Spain and Atletico Madrid’s Koke. Only this week it was reported that the club’s director of football Michael Emenalo has flown to Spain to hold discussion with the Spanish la liga side with a view to complete a deal that will see the 23-year old Spain national team player sign for Chelsea. It is believed a quick deal is going to be agreed next week ahead of the window in July.

According to mirror, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is keen to sign another central midfielder in the summer and Koke’s versatility has enticed him. Jose Mourinho has mandated Roman Abramovich and Michael Emenalo to get him the Spanish. It is reported that to make room for the Spaniard, Chelsea are ready to offloadn John Obi Mikel, Ramires and maybe Oscar.

However, it is not only Chelsea that are interested in signing Koke. Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal and PSG have all been linked to the youngster at various times in the last two months. Although Atleti are very likely to resist any attempt to lure their prized asset away from the club, it is believed that a big money offer will tempt them to let the player go.

Should Koke join Chelsea, he will not only have a positive impact on the fan base, he will significantly improve Chelsea on the field of play and in the commercial aspect of the club. He is a signing that will lead to a lot of shirt sales.
