Chelsea are well-known to be in the hunt for a new manager at the end of the season, and the timing could end up being perfect.
Jose Mourinho has all but signed off his reign at Real Madrid, after talks with the Galactico’s hierarchy last month apparently had both parties decide to part ways this summer.
Jose has had a torrid time of late, with hostile receptions from fans along with reported player bust-ups. He for some reason has demoted FIFA World XI goalkeeper Iker Casillas to second-choice, and is failing to challenge Barca currently for the La Liga title.
‘The Special One’ and his team currently sit 18 points behind leaders Barcelona, and 7 behind city rivals Athletico, having dropped more points by January than they did in the whole of last season.
Mourinho was this week in England to watch Champions League opposition Manchester United take on Liverpool, and reiterated his love for the Premier League.
The Portuguese manager said: “My memories from English football could not be better. It was my first experience outside of Portugal. I was still a very young coach when I left Portugal to go to England. But there couldn’t be a better place to go.
In England you feel the real passion for the game. You also don’t feel what we feel in almost every other country which is the passion for clubs. In England, it’s not just about passion for clubs, it’s mainly about passion for football – and you feel it.
“So, my memories are great. I loved it from the first to the last day. I don’t regret my last day because after that I was lucky enough to enjoy Italy and to have and enjoy some success there and also in Spain, so I don’t regret the day I left. But I know that one day I will come back because English football means a lot to myself… Of course, it’s impossible, but I feel everybody involved in the game should experience English football because it’s a special feeling. You really enjoy being a football professional there.”
Jose Mourinho’s return would be a dream come true. We have been waiting for ‘The Special One’ to return since the day he left. Reports suggest he is favourite to take over in the summer as Pep Guardiola has rebuffed our offer. Jose will put us back on top where we belong. Is there any Chelsea fan who would prefer Pep to Jose? I think not…
