Arch rivals, Chelsea and Manchester United are in a tight race to sign Lazio’s attacking midfield prodigy, Felipe Anderson. The 22 year-old Brazilian is developing into a fine attacker in Europe after moving from Brazilian side, Santos 3 seasons ago. He is reportedly worth 28 million pounds, and Lazio could bank on such figure to bring in more cash.
His performances this season in the Serie A haven’t been far from spectacular, as he has helped contribute to the club’s 3rd place finish in the League. Chelsea aren’t impressed with Fiorentina’s former winger, Cuadrado, and they see Felipe Anderson as his replacement, as the Colombian isn’t in their plans for next season.
Felipe Anderson has earned himself a nickname, Lampadina (light bulb), following his ability to “light up” any match with a moment of skill or a swift turn of pace. 10 goals, 7 assists and 34 chances created in 30 Serie A matches this season, he is no doubt the typical Chelsea type of attacking midfielder, and he can help ease off the work-rate on Hazard.
United were tipped favorites, but their interest in Bale doesn’t make Anderson a first-choice, and Chelsea definitely looks like a place to be, as the club has a couple of Selecao stars. The pensioners will probably be making a bid in few days to come.
