Chelsea Set To Bid For £52m-Rated £95,000-A-Week Duo

Morgan Schneiderlin

Southampton duo: Morgan Schneiderlin and Nathaniel Clyne are a target for Chelsea’s in the summer. Although Chelsea are comfortably leading in the race of clinching the premier league, but their Champions league outing ended in a flop, and was below par generally. Same as every other EPL representative at the continental competition. Seems Mourinho wants a formidable squad towards next season, and these two players; a midfielder and a right-back are among his options.

England 24 years old Nathaniel Clyne, who plays right-back at his current club will face fierce competition if he eventually agrees to sign for the blues. His current contract at Southampton enters its final year, and a contract renewal isn’t in view. The current Chelsea squad boasts of Branislav Ivanovic and Cesar Azpilicueta, two of the best defenders this season. Clyne’s chances of a regular starting berth isn’t guaranteed at Stanford bridge, and so, Manchester united might end up winning him to their side. It has been reported that the Dutch coach is in dire need of a right-back after lackluster displays from Rafael. Antonio Valencia has been playing right back at Old trafford for much of the season, a position out of his natural playing position. If 25 million Euros Clyne is ever to get a shot at featuring for the England team, he must play regular club football, and that isn’t promised at Chelsea.

Morgan Schneiderlin on the other hand has publicly declared his love to join a team playing in the Champions League. The French midfielder is wanted by his fellow Frenchman, Arsene Wenger at Arsenal. But with Chelsea also interested in him, he will have to make a wise decision. Whichever team he finally agrees to sign for will require him to fight for a place, as both teams have a solid midfield. Morgan Schneiderlin won’t be a pullover too, he was instrumental for Ronald Koeman’s side in the last two seasons and it’s high time he stepped his game up by signing for a club where stiff competition is readily available.

This next transfer window is a competition on its own. Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United are in fierce rivalry over the signatures of these two, and it would be eye-catching to see which of these teams eventually pick up both or either of these great players.
