Chelsea set to raid Fulham for £10m playmaker
Moussa Dembele, if he comes to Stamford Bridge, will be a lot cheaper than Chelsea’s other signings of the season. The 24-year old Belgian international is likely to cost around £10 million, even if we have to compete with Manchester United for the player.
Dembele has been pushed further forward into a support role under Martin Jol, and has been instrumental in Fulham’s good form in the last two years. He would relish the chance to play alongside his international team mate Eden Hazard.
With only one year of his current contract left to run, Fulham are unlikely to stand in the way of an offer by Chelsea. The creative player is ready for a move, but Sir Alex Ferguson may be ready to fight Chelsea for Dembele, according to The Sun. Belgium are not involved in this summer’s Euro 2012 tournament, so Dembele will be fresh for the start of the season.
Would he be a regular starter? Maybe not, but with the amount of games Chelsea are likely to play next season, his versatility and quality could be invaluable.
He SHOULD get game time as he is a better player than Mereiles and Lamps isn’t getting any younger. Not only is Roman replacing players that have gone or going but also prepared, obviously, to look at improving what we already have! Players like Mereiles, Mikel, Sturridge and Malouda must ALL be on thin ice in this summers major shake up of the first team squad.
