Chelsea SHOCK Man UTD By AGREEING £35m Deal For United Key Target

Jose-mourinhoValencia finished fourth in the La Liga this season, earning themselves a return to the Champions League for the coming campaign. One of their key players during the season was Argentina international, Nicholas Otamendi. The central defender put up resolute performances and has been tipped to move on to a bigger club, with Chelsea being his preferred destination.

Spanish radio station SER Sports reports thus on the player’s ambition to leave the Mestalla,

“Nicolas told Salvo two months ago, to his face, that he wanted to leave Valencia in the

summer, Nicolas is happy at VCF and with the fans but he’s got an option to improve on a professional level. Jorge Mendes knows this too. Nico is going to do everything (possible) to leave. There are a lot of conversations with clubs that want Otamendi. Nicolas loves everything at Valencia but if the chance arose to leave, he’d do everything possible to make it happen.”

A move to Chelsea could be in the offing, as the club wants a replacement for the ageing and about-to-retire Terry, and there have also been concerns about Cahill’s form. Otamendi will be a worthy backup for the Blues if a deal works out. Some reports in Spain already claim Chelsea has agreed a fee for the player with Valencia and will look to agree personal terms with the player in a matter of days.
