Chelsea sign stand-out Swedish defensive prospect

Chelsea have signed highly-rated 15 year-old sensation, Ali Suljic, according to Talksport.

Suljic is a modern centre-back in the mould of David Luiz, with his forward runs from the back and dominant aerial ability.

Suljic’s agent Patrick Mork said of him: “He is a complete defender. The greatest talent in the Swedish boys’ team in years. I saw him play several internationals last year and he is in a class of his own.”

The young Swede turned down offers from Premier League rivals Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal, with the Gunners’ said to have put the defender high on their wish-list.

Ali will spend a week training and familiarising himself with the Blues youth set-up on a monthly basis until the summer, when he will complete his move on a permanent basis.

Suljic said: “I’ve decided on Chelsea. Premier League clubs and some in Italy were interested. It’s wonderful, but at the same time, feels unreal. The goal is to continue to develop. I think I can reach the first team, but first, the U21 team of course.”

It is always good news to sign the hottest young talent on the continent, and to sign him from under Arsene Wenger’s nose is also a big plus. We are constantly stealing a march on our rivals in the hunt for young raw talent. I hope Suljic will continue to improve to match his amazing potential.

Yes while I do agree with you, but the problem remains for Chelsea to actually use his talent. How many Chelsea young stars are loaned out to other clubs, and how many have been successfully called back, and be integrated into the main team? This is a mighty problem for Chelsea to solve and should also be a bit of concern for those who love the club,it’s not good enough to snatch a talented youngster when the chances of making use of his services is highly unlikely,I’m really concerned!!!
