Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku wishes to continue progressing at West Brom for two years

Romelu Lukaku has declared that he wishes to stay away from Chelsea on loan for two years, but insists that he believes he will come back to Chelsea to make an impact.

The Belgian has been enjoying his season at West Brom, where Albion have been over-achieving so far this term. Lukaku has scored 6 goals so far this term, including netting the winner in this weekends 2-1 win over Norwich City.

Lukaku said: “I am in the perfect environment to learn and do well for two years and then go back to Chelsea and play,” Lukaku said. “I had to learn a lot last season but now I have to learn and act on what I have learned.

“The head coach is doing a great job with me and now it’s down to me to earn more starts and do well for the team because the team has to win, and hopefully I can help with that.

“It’s all about minutes on the pitch – and I want to play. I love the game, I love football and since I was a baby I have wanted to play.

“I’m enjoying my time here a lot and my family and friends can see that.

“I am a changed man and I have settled down a lot as it’s very similar here to my home town. I am very happy.”

Romelu Lukaku has been limited to starts at West Brom due to the outstanding performances by Shane Long, but the 19 year-old has been working hard, and fighting for his chance, a chance he took on Saturday.

Lukaku has been widely expected to become one of Chelsea’s elite, but had struggled to show his true ability in the Premier League before this season.

Chelsea are in the hunt for a striker or two in January and it was uncertain whether we would choose to recall the hot prospect.

Chelsea will be doing the right thing if they decide not to recall the striker, who has been going from strength to strength so far this term. If Chelsea were to fail to sign Falcao, and would be willing to play the Belgian then I would love to see the boy-hood Chelsea fan live the dream, and make his mark at Stamford Bridge. Do you think he is ready to come back to Chelsea?
