Chelsea seem intent on signing Gonzalo Higuaín from Napoli. The Metro is reporting that the blues have offered £30million to Napoli to ensure they get their man. Earlier reports indicated that Chelsea were in talks with Radamel Falcao following his disastrous loan with Manchester United.
With Chelsea aiming for a proven goal scorer, Higuaín seems a logical choice. Not that Radamel Falcoa is not a proven goal scorer but ever since his recovery from a lengthy injury period, and his subsequent loan at Manchester United, Falcao seems to have lost his form. Definitely Chelsea cannot afford to sign a player who just might have reached the end of his career.
Despite Costa providing Chelsea with 20 gaols in the league before being hit by injury, his teammates struggled to find the net, and this can be blamed on the fact that Didier Drogba and Loic Remy were out of form and injured respectively. With Higuaín coming to Chelsea, then there is no doubt that the flood gate of goals will be opened.
What else can be expected when both Higuaín and Costa have reached enviable heights in terms of goals scored this season! Scoring a total of 20 and 29 goals respectively, Costa and Higuaín have been pure assassins in front of goal this season and should both link up, there is no doubt that the league title will be heading back to Stamford Bridge next season.
