Chelsea target highly rated defensive rock

Chelsea have put a defender high on their priorities list, as well as a possible two strikers.

Their latest target to emerge is 20 year-old Feyenoord captain, Stefan de Vrij, who has turned down two contract extensions from the club recently, and may be available for around £5million come January.

The Holland international has blossomed into one of the most exciting defenders in Europe in recent seasons, having broken into the Feyenoord side aged just 17.

The Feyenoord technical director Martin Van Geel has become frustrated with the players lack of intention to extend his current contract, due to expire in the summer of 2014, and has apparently urged the board to consider selling their captain.

Chelsea may have to fight for the player’s signature as he is by no means an unknown quantity, but will be confident of signing the player ahead of known admirers such as Arsenal, Newcastle and Sunderland.

With the recent lack of clean-sheets and the possibility of losing John Terry at the end of the season, this youngster could be just the answer. The defender is known to be experienced beyond his years, and could be at the centre of our defence for years to come.

Not true, this happen to one player, all other talents have already signed a new contract, De Vrij decide in the new year, and didnt turned down 2 contracts. And the selling price will be much more than this E6 mill
