Porto are rumoured to be willing to sell Jackson Martinez for around £20m, after only 5 months at the club.
Porto are to try and free up funds in January and the Portuguese press are adamant Martinez will be the sold, with the intent to invest in two or three new signings.
The striker arrived in Europe in July and adapted very quickly. Martinez has been in great goalscoring form, with 13 goals in his 7 appearances for Porto, including 3 goals in the Champions League.
The Colombian has attracted interest from various clubs over Europe, including the likes of PSG, Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan, but the 26 year-old is thought to be keen on the Premier League.
A strong, powerful and clinical striker like previous Chelsea legend Didier Drogba is wanted at Chelsea, with a shortage of prowess up front a real issue for interim manager Rafa Benitez.
Chelsea are in the hunt for a striker or two in January, as it looks as if Chelsea are looking to cash-in on second-choice striker Daniel Sturridge, with Liverpool rumoured to have opened proceedings.
Martinez has a good goalscoring record at each club he has been to, but I would prefer a bigger name. If Torres can keep improving under Rafa Benitez then It will be interesting to see if Chelsea spend big on a striker or not. Either way a striker or two will come in as back-up to Nando. Do we think Torres has turned a corner?
