In the past few days, there has been media reports in both Italy and in England linking Chelsea to the signing of Inter Milan’s Argentine striker Mauro Icardi. The South American who have been one of Inter’s best player this season has reportedly caught the eyes of not just Chelsea but as well as Manchester Unite, Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham.
According, if you believe Italian media out let Tuttomercatoweb, the striker has put pen to paper on a new contract with the sleeping giants of Italian football and the day could be announced tomorrow.
Icardi who has scored 20 goals and created 4 assists in 35 serie A games this season has until 2017 on his current contract but due to a reported release clause, Inter Milan are keen on getting him to sign a new deal which will increase or remove the said release clause.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, his new contract will see him become Inter Milan’s best paid player and part of the deal will include him keeping a part of his image right while Inter also keeps a part. He will reportedly get a big bonus to compensate him for the protracted negotiation.
Tuttomercatoweb reports that he will earn as much as €3 million per year. With Chelsea missing out on Icardi, it could well be that the club has rejected him because they are sure of getting Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid.
